Established in 1956, the Western Institute for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (WIDHH) is a unique charity serving the needs of Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals throughout British Columbia. Our Agency provides services in Audiology, Employment Counselling, Seniors Outreach, Sign Language Interpreting and Communication Devices.  We offer a competitive salary and benefits, a friendly and dynamic work environment, and a chance to make a difference.   


Our Communication Devices Program provides sales and services of devices that improve communication accessibility for Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals. This includes assistive listening, alerting and amplifying devices for home and office environments. The Program is currently expanding our market outreach. We are seeking a personable, team-oriented individual to join our professional team in newly created position:


Communication Devices Program Lead
Full-time, Permanent



  • Oversee operations of Communication Devices Program (CDP) showroom and online store
  • Utilize marketing analytic tools to expand services and products in showroom and online store
  • Develop promotional activities and materials for the CDP and WIDHH
  • Participate in marketing campaign activities for the CDP and WIDHH
  • Provide public presentations of the CDP and WIDHH services
  • Supervisory role of other staff within the program


Required Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary degree in Communications, Marketing, Business Administration or related field
  • Experienced and active user of hearing aids and/or alerting devices and/or related products
  • Experience and proven success in digital and social media marketing
  • Experience in marketing analytics and CRM programs
  • Experience in online retail platforms, such as Shopify


Preferred Skill Sets:

  • Interest in the provision of devices and services that help Deaf and Hard of Hearing persons achieve communication accessibility
  • Creative interest in developing an effective in-store and on-line presence for the CDP
  • Ability to communicate in American Sign Language (ASL) or a willingness to learn
  • Strong aptitude for technological applications for mobile phones and devices
  • Ability to work well independently with little supervision
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Personable, friendly, articulate communicator
  • Strong critical and analytical thinking skills
