Many Deaf and Deafblind persons rely on sign language as their primary mode of communication. Community Interpreting Services (CIS) is the sign language interpreting booking services of the Western Institute for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing, a non-profit social service agency. Interpreting services may be funded by either provincial or municipal grants or fee-for-service. Please contact our Booking Coordinator for more information.

Professional Sign Language Interpreters provide persons who are Deaf or Deafblind greater access to communication. They bridge the communication barrier by conveying the purpose, tone and spirit of the message between individuals who do not share a common language.
