What are the main services of WIDHH?
There are four main service departments at WIDHH.

What languages are used in the office?
Currently, services are offered in the following languages depending on the department: English, Sign Language (ASL), Mandarin, Cantonese and French. Contact individual departments for more information.
What are your business hours?
The business hours for all locations are generally Monday to Friday, 9 to 5 pm. The West 7th office and the Tri-cities office also have a Saturday Audiology Clinic from 9 to 4 pm.
Lunch hours:
The West 7th office does not close for lunch on Monday to Friday. But there are limited services provided from 12:00pm to 2:00pm. For the Saturday clinics at the West 7th and Tri-cities locations, the offices close for lunch from 12:00pm to 1:00pm.
At the Willow office location, the office closes for lunch between 12 and 1 pm.
At the Tricities office location, the office closes for lunch between 1 and 2 pm.

What does the WIDHH membership include?
WIDHH was created by Community Members to address their needs. We make decisions on our programs and services based on those needs. Become a member today and help us grow! How can I sign up for the WIDHH Newsletter?
In order to save on mailing and printing costs, the Western Institute for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing can now deliver our newsletter directly to your e-mail inbox. Print copies are still available and will be mailed to those who wish to stay on the mailing list.

Are there volunteer opportunities at WIDHH?
WIDHH does not use volunteers in direct programming, but from time to time we require assistance from volunteers for special events. Please look for opportunities under the Events & News Page.
I want to learn Sign Language (ASL). Does WIDHH offer classes?
WIDHH does not offer sign language classes, but we suggest you contact your local School Board for more information.
Vancouver Community College is another place to contact for information on the variety of ASL related courses that are offered. Check out their website for more information, http://www.vcc.bc.ca/programs-courses/detail.cfm?div_id=10&prog_id=106
The Douglas College Interpreting Training Program is another option to consider if you are looking to become a qualified Sign Language Interpreter. Check out their website for more information at, http://www.douglas.bc.ca/programs/sign-language.html
