Communication Devices

Our Communication Devices Showroom displays a variety of assistive listening and alerting devices that assist in the communication at home, educational settings, vocational and social environments.

Assistive Listening Devices (ALDs) provide assistance "beyond the hearing aid" and help improve speech understanding in noisy environments such as restaurants, classroom and meeting situations. They can include FM systems, Infrared systems for the television and radio, and amplified telephones. Many ALDs can work in conjunction with hearing aids.

Alerting and signalling devices are available to help improve a person’s awareness of their environment. These include devices such as vibrating alarm clocks, a baby cry signaller and visual and tactile alerting systems for doorbells and alarms. For a complete listing of assistive listening devices and alerting systems, visit our Online Store.

Many public facilities also provide assistive listening devices to help you hear at meetings and performances better. For a complete listening of public venues in the Lower Mainland with these services, download the following brochure, Public Facilities in BC with ALDs.
