WIDHH Announcement: MIS Transition in BC

Dear members of our Deaf, Hard of Hearing, Interpreting and Medical Services Community on Vancouver Island,

Our Agency is the provider of Medical Interpreting Services (MIS) for BC. For the past several years, services for MIS on the island has been subcontracted to the Island Deaf and Hard of Hearing Centre (IDHHC) in Victoria and we thank them for their services to the MIS program.

WIDHH is now planning to transition the services from IDHHC back to WIDHH. This will help to create consistency in services across all regions and improve our medical interpreting services across the province. The change will take place on Tuesday July 3rd, 2018 at 8 am. Until that date, please contact IDHHC for Medical Interpreting Services on the island.

Please do not hesitate to contact Tim Mallach, WIDHH Head of Interpreting Services with any questions or concerns, email or text 905-299-2696.
